Pathfinder Society: Burnt Offerings (Levels 3-5 / Rise of the Runelords, 1 of 6)

All players must RSVP to be guaranteed a place in the game, provided a place exists. Priority will be given to RSVPs, then to those waitlisted

Disclaimer: Note that this is not a normal Pathfinder Society scenario, but a sanctioned module. As such, it may be two to four times as long (hence the earlier start time).  Should all go well for your character, you'll receive 3XP and 4PP at the end.  The GM will receive this, plus 10 KTG GM points.

This only happens if we get a GM willing to run and acquire it.  As this is a product that our friends at Ettin sell, it would be appreciated if the GM didn't use a pirated pdf.

Players are encouraged to get and review the FREE Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition Player's Guide, which can be found here.  You may also find your play experience enhanced by the Player Companion: Varisia, Birthplace of Legends.  I'd also recommend the original (non-Anniversary Edition) of the Player's Guide, found here.

The Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path begins in the small coastal town of Sandpoint. In a time when rumors of rampaging dragons and massing armies of giants have everyone on edge, the people of Sandpoint eagerly anticipate the coming festival to commemorate the consecration of a new temple. Yet, at the height of the ceremony, disaster strikes. A band of goblins assaults Sandpoint, and it falls to the heroes to defend the new temple.

In the days that follow, a mysterious malady that leaves its victims monstrously deformed and dangerously insane spreads through the town. The PCs must not only determine what’s causing this strange contagion, but also discover the sinister connection between the plague, the goblin attacks, and the emergence of a strange rune from an empire thought to be long dead.

There is a very basic Pathfinder character builder here.  When you first load the program, check the box that says "Use Pathfinder Society Rules".  This program is free for the first five levels, but is limited to three race choices and five class choices.  There are other options out there, but you are responsible for ensuring your character is society-legal.

Note that by RSVPing to attend, you are making a commitment and you may be taking a place that someone else would use.  If plans change, do change your RSVP with them.  No-showing puts you at risk of being kicked.  A second infraction risks a banning.

Pathfinder Society is a community and for the community to grow, everyone needs to contribute.  To that end, we have a loose policy for GMing roughly one out of every five games you play.  To see where you are in our points system, click here to be directed to our discussion thread.  Please be sure to check this thread often for information on Pathfinder Society play in Kingwood.

If I don't get up there before this game is over give the sign in sheet to Aaron or Brian at the Mantis' Prey table. I'll get it from either of them and report it as soon as I can. Be sure to write neatly!

You need to make a level 1 and get it to level 3 for this one.

No. If you are building a new character withi this in mind, there are some elements you may want to include in your build that come from the player's guide. You probably also want to include a reason for your character to care about Varisia - specifically, the town of Sandpoint (and the city of Magnimar if you're in Risen Rune). Of course, its going to take some work for you to get a new character to level three by then. That's why I was swnding out notices in May.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
