What are your goals for your Kirtan practice?

I'm always aiming for a clearer, stronger voice. Up until my mid-twenties I had a very quiet voice, and even a stutter at times. Kirtan gives me the focus to practice and yoga has given me a stronger, more controlled breath to sing with. This affects the rest of my life as it makes me sound & feel more confident. I also like that it brings many of my friends together and helps me meet new people who often have similar interests.

Are you a musician? ("just for fun" counts!)

Yes! I play the harmonium at Kirtan. I also love to play the djembe, accordion, flute, and many other instruments for fun.

I teach yoga and play the harmonium around the south shore. I really love Kirtan as it gives me a steady, grounded way to practice music and take my mind off things. In warmer months I love the outdoors, gardening, & foraging.
