Hike the Elhwa River trail to Hurricane Ridge

Need to shed some of that Thanksgiving feast extra weight? Tired of fighting the crowds at Walmart?

This hike will ensure we get a minimum of 3500 feet gain and we are shooting for 4400 feet of gain from the 400 foot trailhead.

Bring your microspikes. Alpine breakout into whatever weather is out there occurs at 4200 feet altitude.

Bring water, a couple of waters, and lunch. Please pack your ten essentials with backup layers also.

Weather up there could get challenging so keep abreast of the forecast:

As always please contribute to the driver and park pass owners expenses.

Departing the east end Hood Canal Park and Ride at 7:30 a.m.

Well it really didn't rain hard on us, just intermittent showers. Snow showers at 5000 feet. Great hike!

Hi Phil, the earliest I could be at the Bainbridge ferry terminal is 6:30am (no bus before that). Thank you for trying to work out my ride! This was my first reservation with the Kitsap outdoors, and I truly appreciate your support! Although I won't make it this time, I look forward to hiking with you and the group!

I'm thinking about heading up early Friday, looks like Saturday night through Sunday may be heavy snow storm with snow line dropping from 6,000 ft down to 2,000 feet so it may be pretty soupy up there.

Dang! Wish I could, but I have to head home that day. If something besides the bike ride gets posted for Sat., I will possibly join that one.
