This is a nice nature reserve and also one of Kitsap County's best kept secrets! *Some members had difficulty finding the nature reserve, please review the link below! I will email my cell phone number to KSG members who RSVP a day or two in advance of the hike* Plan on getting a little dirty, a little muddy, a little wet, a few nettle stings, a little sweaty and having a lot of fun! This is a moderate/difficult 1 mile(ish) hike down a steady slope to the beach and cabin area. Some of the trails are skirting wetlands and are covered with mud and water (1 to 3 inches) in small sections. The cabin is not accessible, but provides a nice resting area on the deck and it's a great place to eat a snack, rehydrate and take in the wondrous views of Hood Canal! This is also a great beach combing spot too, tides permitting. After the hike we can meet at Seabeck Marina for a coffee/tea at Turies espresso. If you're hungry, you can grab a slice of Seabeck pizza or shop the Seabeck General Store!
