Who are we? Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to making a difference one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Tysons Corner/Mclean, VA serves the community and its members by organizing volunteer opportunities as well as social events and fundraisers. Our club consists mostly of mid-20 to 40-something aged adults, but we welcome all those interested in volunteering.

What we do? We live to serve and we love to serve! Members of Kiwanis worldwide contribute more than 12 million hours of service a year. Have you heard of Key Club? Kiwanis sponsors youth leadership programs like Key Clubs in high schools which teach students the value of community service.

Our club organizes and participates in a variety of service projects throughout the year including: park/playground up-keep, food banks, Ronald McDonald House, mentoring youth, runs/walks for awareness campaigns and more.

We also regularly plan social events for members like meeting up for dinner, happy hour, festivals, and sporting events.

What happens at meetings? Meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at Shrevewood Elementary School in Falls Church, just off Route 7 and not too far from Tysons Corner. Meetings consist of a run-down of the upcoming events and review of past events, as well as an update on our service leadership youth clubs. Meeting attendance is not mandatory, but we often have valuable guest speakers and socials connected to the meeting to make it more worth while to come out during the week. We also stream our meetings live on the internet for members who can't attend in person.

How do I join? To become eligible for membership you must attend any 3 events, at which point you can apply for membership and pay dues to be an official member. Dues are $120 a year, payable in two installments of $60. If you decide to become a member, your dues will cover: Club t-shirt and membership pin, Goodies at events and socials, Networking opportunities with fellow Kiwanis members and clubs Club administrative costs and sponsorships of the youth clubs we oversee, Insurance if you are injured during a club event, service project Credit of $25 (available your first 12 months of membership) you may use toward your chosen inter-club activity, Varying financial reimbursement for attending Kiwanis conventions, Kiwanis portal access, where you will find Kiwanis downloads and resources and can easily sign up for club events KIWANIS Magazine
