We will be meeting at Sewing Machines, ETC. at 8419 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. There will be a short program with shopping afterwards. Remember to bring any recently completed projects (or older projects) for show and tell. See you there.
Want to find some pals to sew with? Are you just learning to sew and would love to benefit from other’s experience? Get discounts with sewing related vendors? Have others to carpool and travel with to sewing/ quilting conferences and events? Listen to guest speakers about products and sewing techniques? Want to contribute your sewing skills towards some charity projects for others? You should check out the American Sewing Guild!
The American Sewing Guild is a national organization with chapters all over the US. Chapters are made up of neighborhood groups which meet monthly. The Knoxville chapter has 2 neighborhood groups one in Maryville and one in West Knoxville,. We would like to have a group in East Knoxville, so contact us if you live in that area and are interested. Each neighborhood group has a leader (and often a co-leader) who plans a program for each meeting. The dues are paid to the national organization and are $50 per year for the first year and you can renew each year for $45. Non-members can visit twice before joining the organization. Membership is made up of all skill levels. We have very skilled members with teaching certifications and we have entry level beginners and all levels in between. If you already love sewing or want to learn how to sew, come and check us out.
