Monthly Buffet Lunch with Smoky Mountain Blues Society

After lunch guest speaker is Robert Higginbotham " and he'll explain "The History of the Blues".

Newcomers meets the 3rd Wed of each month, always at Beardon Banquet Hall. Lunch starts promptly at 12noon, but if you want to go earlier (around 9:30am) lots of women are playing cards, dominoes, etc. After lunch we have a guest speaker. This month is the Merry Maker Clowns and the First Baptist Church of Concord. Although you will probably only see a handful of RSVP's on this website....don't be alarmed when you see about 70 women at the lunch. This club has been around since 1957 and invitations have only ever been thru the mail, or emails. We're trying meetup.com for six months, because we think there are some people out there who don't know about our group. Prepayment is required of $12.00 for the lunch.  When you RSVP here, I'll give you the address to send your check.  It's always a buffet.  You can come to a meeting and just pay for the lunch, and if you decide to join, the dues  are just $7.50 at this time. Then the annual dues are all collected in May, which will be a WHOPPING  $15.00. We have "mini'groups" that also meet at other times including card clubs, Mexican Train, Book Club, Chat Circle, Explorer's, Main Lunch & Movie Bunch, Supper Club (bring your "better half") and the Christmas Tea. We are also very involved in civic donations. We participate each year in the Angel Tree, and accept donations at each meeting for various charities (pet shelters, abused women and children, military families, etc).
