Turkey Creek Greenway

We will meet in the parking lot behind Newk's Express Café 11527 Parkside Dr. The walk will be 2 miles to the Turkey Creek Wetland and back. This walkway is entirely paved.

Directions: From I-40, get off at the Lovell Rd. exit. Head south-bound on Lovell Rd. The next stoplight will be Turkey Creek Rd. Turn right. In 1.8 miles Newk's Express Cafe is on the right.

Turkey Creek Greenway is located between Campbell Station Road and Lovell Road along the south border of I-40/I-75. The greenway skirts the scenic Turkey Creek Wetland. The Turkey Creek Wetland is the largest wetland area in Knox County and is managed by the Isaak Walton League.

The greenway begins at Lovell Road (connecting to the road's sidewalk system that links to a multitude of restaurants), runs behind the Turkey Creek Shopping Center (with several connections to access the stores and restaurants along the way), and ends at the sidewalk system along Campbell Station Rd.

Wonderful! When the temps & humidity drop, these walks will be more to my liking. This walk was very instructive, with the wetlands and being able to actually see Turkey Creek, versus just seeing the name.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
