HIKE IN CELEBRATION OF KNOXVILLE'S URBAN WILDERNESS

The Harvey Broome Group of the Sierra Club is planning a hike to celebrate the most recent news regarding the Knoxville Urban Wilderness. First, the generous donation of 100 acres by the Wood Family to Legacy Parks for expansion of the Urban Wilderness, and second, the announcement that TDOT will no longer pursue the extension of the James White Parkway Project.

Hikers will meet at 9am at the Anderson School Trailhead and enjoy a loop through William Hastie Natural Area and Marie Myers Park. Total distance will be around 7-8 miles and is considered moderately difficult. A shuttle may be an option for those not wanting to walk the entire hike. The Appalachian Mountain Bike Club and the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club are co-sponsoring the hike with the Harvey Broome Group of the Sierra Club.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
