Let's Elect A New Kind Of Mayor For The City Of Knoxville

Hello neighbors. I want us to find a different kind of local patriot who can rally us to run for City Mayor of Knoxville in 2011. I do not want anyone of us to forget the Black Tuesday Crowd and how the good old boy and the good old girl system has severely tainted our growth, development and reputation.

Our current government is starving for more ethical men and women who can articulate vision, hope results and positive change.

I want to help find a leader who has charisma and can articulate a vision to:

1. Eliminate traffic cameras and recognize they are an invasion of freedom and liberty and feed on a government's thirst for quick easy funding and increasing control.

2. Freshly review all budget line items to see what programs can be eliminated or cut.

3. Place a more concerted effort on grant writing for the direct purpose of community development that can tangibly improve the daily quality life of citizens and promote tourism and corporate recruitment.

4. Seek out fleet ways to execute cutting edge green solutions that makes practical economic sense regarding local power generation and waste disposal.

5. Recognize home schooling is an increasingly popular and viable way our neighbors choose to educate their children. Engage and partner with the Knox County Board of Education most preferably and if possible or if necessary establish an independent city charter school system which can utilize state and federal dollars that will give parents maximum freedom and liberty to educate their children and still allow them access to educational materials, labs, athletic facilities and programs for a more economical feasable and rewarding educational experience. Home schooling families do not need to be treated as second class neighbors.

6. Develop a viable plan which can be executed as swiftly as possible to transform Knoxville into a major tourist destination. I want to support a mayoral candidate that wants to redevelop underused brown areas of our city into profitable sustainable points of tourism. I want a mayor who sets forth a program to aggressively recruit sports teams, hall of fames, museums of general interests, world class hotels, possibly a theme park, and a year long industry for popular performance art (Music and Live Theater).

7. Work with city planners and capitalists to develop pleasing and desirable high density housing areas that offer high quality of life and promote options to walk/bike for local shopping, recreation, entertainment, personal enrichment, employment etc.

8. Set forth a long range policy that all new street development and all future street redevelopment seeks ways to utilize round abouts instead of traffic lights for the purpose of safety, convenience, traffic flow and in the long run cost savings.

9. Seek out ways to look for efficiencies in personnel allocation and strongly look for and promote volunteering in order to curb and hopefully cut taxation. Look into possible alternatives of trading services the city needs in exchange for city property tax rebating. Actively promote and enourage citizens to suggest ways how the city can find efficiencies and/or tangibly improve quality of life in our city.

10. Utilize the 9 objectives listed above to aggressively recruit businesses that will offer our citizens high paying and personally rewarding career opportunities.

It is impossible for any one group of people to agree 100% on everything. I hope as you read this, you find enough qualities in my quest to join me in a search to find a viable fresh new face who can be our next city mayor. Your positive and encouraging imput is requested. If you have organization, network and fundraising skills let us talk. I am serious in wanting this to become a reality.
