Train Man: Densha Otoko (2005)
While riding the train, a desperate geek meets the girl of his dreams, prompting the socially deprived but brave young nerd to start a chat room thread asking his faceless Internet compatriots, "How do you talk to girls?" The courtship advice he receives from his online pals -- and what he does with their expert counsel -- form the basis for this charming romantic comedy, a love story for the 21st century.

In the Realm of Passion (1978)
Toyoji (Tatsuya Fuji), a young layabout, seduces Seki (Kazuko Yoshiyuki), a middle-aged housewife. In the throes of their wild affair, Toyoji convinces Seki to help him murder her husband Gisaburo (Takahiro Tamura), and it seems they may have committed the perfect crime -- until they're haunted by Gisaburo's tormented spirit. This tense and moody sequel is a follow-up to director Nagisha Oshima's controversial film In the Realm of the Senses.

Tokyo Drifter (1966)
Directed by Sijun Suzuki, one of Japan's most talented indie filmmakers, Tokyo Drifter is the story of Tetsu (Tetsuya Watari), a former gang member who's attempting to live the straight life. Tetsu faces a tough challenge when his gang is determined to pull him back into their world -- or kill him if he refuses. Unable to handle the pressure, Tetsu hits the road and becomes a drifter, but his past is never far behind.
