Herbal Magick at Buil Samgye Tang

We love this place. Unfortunately, they didn't have the "magic herbs" soup at our last visit!* we go again!

*Not THAT magic herb, these magic herbs are a special blend the owner has flown in from Korea.

**NOT FAMILY STYLE** - dishes are not easily shared.

Cost per person is $15-$25 depending on which soup you order.

What's on offer are all variations on Samgyetang (Chicken stuffed with ginseng, jujubes, pine nuts, chestnuts, garlic, and sticky rice, in soup).

You can have it with or without ginseng, 2 other variations with herbs and another variation with abalone.

That is all there is on the menu.  Like many Korean restaurants on the top of their game, they focus on their specialty.

Expect low levels of salt (but you can add salt to taste).  This is Korean health food!

This is not a very large place, so we will be a small group of 4.

always a great place to eat, even if they keep their real herbs on the down low lately

Hi Kathyrn! If there is a waitlist and the restaurant is a larger place, I usually open up the list for four more people. Buil Samgyetang is a smaller restaurant, so I probably will schedule another event for a later date because I like it so much.

The chicken is stuffed with Jujubes? Maybe some Junior Mints also! My kind of place! Maybe I am advertising my ignorance of Korean food.
