I may change the date, so RSVP at your peril!
Let's celebrate the pig and its yummy parts at Ham Ji Park.
This is a Family Style food event (this means all food costs are shared equally whether you eat any of the food or not; for drink orders you are responsible for and pay for these separately).
Although the 6th street location of Ham Ji Park is much better known, larger and a lot busier, lets go instead to the Pico location which is the original location, more ghetto, with lower prices to match and yet charmingly still has that traditional lousy service that we all know and love from some of our visits to K-Town.
The OG (Original Grandma) ajumma responsible for the 2 locations is supposedly usually here at this Pico location, so maybe we'll see her prowling around if she isn't busy making the soybean paste herself, which she does daily, according to the Yelp reviews.
This cuisine (pork neck bone soup, bbq pork ribs, etc) is the type where you get down and dirty (picking bits of meat out of bones, smoke wafting from bbq grills) so don't wear your top hat and tails, guys, nor your debutante dresses, gals, and same expectations go for maybe afterwards needing to take a shower if you don't want to be dubbed "porkhead" at that fancy social function you are going to later that evening.
If you don't like spicy food or the aroma of fermented soybean soup, perhaps you may want to move along to another event, because these sorts of things are likely to appear at our table.
There's also grilled squid or octopus, tofu soup, broiled mackerel.
$30 Cash should be more than sufficient to successfully complete your Pork Festival tour this evening.
