Although Korean is my mother tongue, I had to re-learned it as a foreigner (long story). So I've been able to work with it from a foreigner's POV with native fluency. I am forever intrigued by Korean language & culture both as a native & a foreigner.
Native: expert enough and always learning. And yes, I'd LOVE to help; that's why I am here! I have been teaching Korean language and culture, started off as a college lecturer and came to focus on corporate training and Korean program consultant. Currently, I offer group and private lessons both online and off line. My online courses are the most popular. So now I have both private and group classes on line, 5 days a week.
Soon-tofu (Volcanic tofu casserole), Mul-Mandu (Steamed Dumpling), Bibimnaengmyung (wheat noodle in a spicy sauce), and most of all, my mother's soul food.
In 2005 for pleasure and a couple of times before then for business. "Strangers with familiarity."
I am a professional instructor; but the main goal for this group is social. I have been teaching Korean to non-Koreans for last 20+ years, and teach teachers. So I will do my best to offer what I know best - offering classes. The group was moved to this site because meetup.com is designed for off-line meetups, and it works really well for the group. I hope to gain your trust and your friends, and I hope you will be able to gain something out of this group! THINGS OTHERS CAN'T GUESS ABOUT ME: (1) My ancestry, both paternal and maternal. You will have to ask me! (2) English is my co-mother tongue, and I wrote professionally for media and universities. I also taught English to native English speakers. I bet dollars to doughnuts you will think otherwise when you hear me for the first time and continue to hold your first impression. Most people do - and it's works for me!
Korean/English Language Service Provider by trade. A language & culture aficionado, digital nomad, social media savvy and canine & feline fanatic. When no one is looking, I dance: I used to coach professional dancers. I am also a micro-investor.
Friendly group with fun events and learning experience. You can find various types of Korean resources at this group as well as supportive people - classes, study groups, resource exchange, events, parties, memories - ranging from professional to casual kind!
