Wanted to meet new people who can also speak Korean

What sparked your interest in Korean language and culture? What interests you about the language and culture?

I occasionally miss Korea.

What level of Korean language do you speak? If you are a native speaker, please e-mail the Organizer to volunteer to help others learn. Thank you!

Quite fluent, although some say my pronunciation has become somewhat anglicized. Sure on the help side.

What is your favorite Korean food?

This is a tough one. I cannot recall the name of the dish, but I had this great dish at a place called Sanchon in Insa Dong, a traditional Korean house offering vegetarian food. Not too spicy, but crisp fried mixed vegetable that you could dip in a cup of really soothing and savory soup. Oh well... but I like most dishes except for really spicy ones.

Have you ever visited Korea and how did you like it?

I taught English for about two years in Seoul about 10 years ago. I loved hanging out in Shinchon, Yongsan, and Kangnam with other ex-pats.

What would you like to gain from this group? We will do our best to organize events around your interests!

Thanks for signing up to Entourage Exclusive Event for Prime-Kobe Korean BBQ. We're doing final head counts for the restaurant and we need you to have the word "CONFIRM" under your name. Would you please take a moment to update your RSVP with the word "CONFIRM" to guarantee your seat. We would be removing uncofirmed RSVP soon to make room for other peeps that are confirming to go. We are doing this because we need a REAL final head count. Thanks You and sorry for inconvenience.

Hello John! Welcome to KTown Connections. This is a great place to get plugged into the Koreatown scene and community in LA and OC. Keep a look out for our next events to network and to make some new friends!

Thanks for coming out, John. I was worried you had a hard time hearing people. Next time I'm putting you in the middle. =)

Hi, I found you on the LA Sushi & Asian Foodies page and I noticed you're interested in good food. I just started an LA Foodie Specials meetup group to bring together friends who love food, like yourself, while saving you money when you dine out. We've got fun and adventurous events coming up like the Kitchen Nightmares Meetup, where we'll be exploring the new Santa La Brea after Chef Gordon Ramsey took a trip to LA to turn things around. Hop on board and take a trip with us!
