RSVP & No-Show Policy

Hi all!

Effective immediately, we have new RSVP & No-Show Policy for the KoreanLA club.

Nothing fancy - just a common sense that's been spelled out and elaborated.

You can read the new policies here:

If you want to read the entire story, e.g. the issue, goal, how we came up with this policy, etc. -- then read on!

All the policies are effective immediately.

The main purpose of enforcing RSVP and no-show policies is to (1) provide fair opportunity for members on the waiting list to plan and attend the event and (2) to minimize unnecessary cost of running the events.

  • We’ve received many coplaints that members were not able to RSVP/attend the event because the space opened up too close to the event date.
  • Event organizers and hosts must have headcounts to make reservations, buy tickets at a discounted price, make deals to rent the locations, etc. No-shows and last-minute drop-outs are costly to organizers who put their money and time forward.

Members can update their RSVP from YES/MAYBE to NO 48 hours before the event date (not event time). Any member who changes RSVP after the due date will be recorded as no-show.

Any member who changes RSVP after the due date will be recorded as no-show.

Event organizers/hosts can place no-show penalty clause for specific events. In such case, no-shows will be required to pre-pay non-refundable penalty due of $15 or minimum cost of current event, whichever is higher, plus cost of future event they want to attend.

Example: a member was a no-show for the dining event at $12 per person. S/he wants to attend free class with optional donation of $10 per class. The member must pre-pay $15 (penalty) + $10 (suggested donation amount) = $25 in order to attend the class.

You will never have to worry about this policy if you are kind of person who respect other's time. In fact, most of you are! So I am not overly concerned about this policy. :)

Thanks for your support to make this club pleasant for everyone!
