Lets do some mantra! Aquarian Age Mantras

This week I would like to do mantra for longer than the usual 5 min. In class we will shoot for 28 min. Mantra is very powerful because it is the conscious and direct engagement of the throat chakra which is responsible for all manifestation. A good mantra will involve the entire body, and when we engage our entire being in such a way we open the doors of our subconscious for clearing and illumination of our higher self.

The following is from http://www.spiritvoyage.com/blog/index.php/mantra-for-the-aquarian-age-sat-siri-siri-akal/ . When we're faced with challenges, we all have different reactions.  Some of us retreat and withdraw, finding comfort in hiding ourselves out of view.  Others still deny that anything is going wrong, preferring a fantasy to the harshness of reality.  Still others give into greed or scarcity, preserving a protecting themselves at the expense of others.  Of course, there are positive reactions to challenges.  But the people who face the difficult times with their heads held high, facing their fears and walking forward, and helping others to do the same live with victory.  They have connected to a sense of timelessness and strength that is beyond them and their small circumstances.

The Following Mantras are what we will be practicing this week

Long Ek Ong Kars

Duration: 7 minutes

Mantra:  Ek ong kar sat nam siri waheguru

Meaning: "One creator created this creation. Truth is His Name. Great beyond description is His Infinite Wisdom."

About:  This mantra has many names including "Morning Call", "Long Ek Ong Kars", and "Adi Shakti Mantra". This mantra engages the Kundalini energy and creates a connection between our soul and the Universal Soul.  You can extend this chant to up to 2 1/2 hours for a separate meditation if you'd like.  This mantra is chanted without musical accompaniment, so you will often find it left off of Aquarian Sadhana albums.  This mantra has a particular meter to it.  You can listen to it chanted on albums such as "Mantras from the Master" or Sat Kartar's "A Daily Practice" to learn how to chant it properly.

Wah Yantee

Duration: 7 minutes

Mantra:  Waah Yantee Kaar Yantee, Jag Doot Patee, Aadak It Waahaa, Brahmaadeh Traysha Guroo, It Wha-hay Guroo

Meaning: "Great Macroself, Creative Self, All that is creative through time.  All that is the Great One. Three aspects of God: Brahma, Vishu, Mahesh (Shiva), That is Waheguru."

About:  This mantra is the words of Patanjali, the great, ancient author of the Yoga Sutras.  It represents thousands of years of prayer.  Within this mantra, you call upon the Macroself, the great Beyond.  This mantra helps to awaken intuition and creativity.

Mul Mantra

Duration: 7 minutes

Mantra: Ek Ong Kar, Sat Nam, Karta Purkh, Nirbho Nirvair, Akal Moorat, Ajoonee, Saibung, Gur Prasaad, Jap!, Aad Such, Jugaad Such, Hai Bhee Such, Nanak Hosee Bhee Such

Meaning: The Mul Mantra is the root mantra.  It can give you an experience of the depth of your soul.  The yogis teach that 108 elements exist in the universe, and there are 108 letters (in the original Gurmukhi script) in this mantra, which comes from the words of Guru Nanak. Yogi Bhajan said it was a "fate killer" and recommended chanting it to change your destiny to complete prosperity.

Tips: Leave a slight space (not a breath) between ajoonee and saibung making sure to not run the words together.  Also emphasize the "ch" in the last four lines, which will increase its power.

Sat Siri Siri Akal

Duration: 7 minutes

Mantra: Sat siri siri akal, maha akal maha akal, sat nam, akal moorat, waheguru.

Meaning: "Great Truth, Respected Undying, Respected Undying, Great Deathless, Great Deathless, Truth Identified, Deathless Image of God, Great beyond Description is His Wisdom".

About: This mantra was called by Yogi Bhajan the "Mantra for the Aquarian Age."  It is how we declare ourselves as timeless, deathless beings. This mantra brings courage and victory.

In the Aquarian Age, Yogi Bhajan warned, we would need to be victorious.  The challenges that we face will require us to be steady and to connect with something larger than ourselves.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
