Area was well marked and easy to maneuver. We enjoyed the hike very much and will most likely go back again. The view was wonderful even for a cloudy day. Nice group!

Found out what the plants and tree we were looking at were.
    Tree - Hawthorn, AKA thornapple
The little purple flower that was only about 3" high and looked like an orchid... well that one was on the cover of my wildflower book, it is in the milkwort family...fringed polygala
The pink flower that was about a foot high - a member of the geranium family
The other ones we knew... starflower, lily of the valley, jack in the pulpit, violets, columbine

Very nice, easy hike. The pond was beautiful and the view from the summit was great. Wish it had been clear!

I loved it. Even with the few hills, it really was an easy hike. Wide, easy to follow, well maintained trails.

Hi Rose, you know me -- my hair is dark brown now, LOL. I am also not a fan of unmarked roads, especially when it takes more than an hour to get there. I was also a little awed by the directions, when I looked it up on Maps.

How strenous is this hike? I signed up but I need more information to determine if I can go

    May 2, 2013

    • Betsy

Hi Joanne. This is a walk in the woods basically. There is one area where the elevation changes but it is not very steep. Does that info help? The distance is a little over 2 miles.
