Hike to Dickinson Hill Fire Tower

A 3 mile round trip hike up the Fire Tower Trail to the recently restored Dickinson Hill Fire Tower.  We will meet at the parking lot at the end of North Long Pond Road.   The views from atop the Fire Tower show the Green Mountains, Berkshires, Taconics and the Adirondack Ranges.  The foliage should be spectacular this weekend.

Brief portions of the trail are steep and rocky so wear appropriate hiking footwear.  The trail is largely uphill on the way there.  The round trip should take us about 2-3 hours.

The elevation at the Fire Tower is 1760 feet, with an ascent of 200 feet.  This would be considered a moderate difficulty level.

There is a picnic table at the Firetower site if you would like to bring a lunch.

Hi Dorothy-As far as I know, I did change my RSVP to no so that someone else could attend. Enjoy the day. Hope to see you before I leave for Florida for the winter.

Blanche... you need to change your RSVP from Yes to No to be removed from the wait list.... I cannot do that, but as of 5:30 there is no one on the wait list and you are not scheduled to attend.

Any changes in attendance needs to be made by the participant.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks
    Dorothy

I have decided that since I have hiked this many times, I would remove myself and give others the chance. Enjoy.

Please do not sign up for both the Dickinson Hill and Beebe Hill Fire Tower Hikes which are the same day and at the same time in different areas.

Since we have a limited number of spaces on both hikes, this would allow more people to sign up without having to be put on the waitlist.
