Star Watch

Join the Albany Area Astronomers for this free tour of the night sky, telescopes provided. Enter the park via Winter Entrance on North Long Pond Road and then follow the signs to program.

Cloudy skies may cancel, so please call Dorothy at[masked] or Bernard (FGLSP host) at[masked] to confirm program.  If Friday Night is Cancelled due to weather, we will be rescheduling this outing to Saturday, October 26 at 7:30 PM.

Please be dressed for the weather, it gets cold in Grafton during October.  Warm footwear is recommended as we will be standing still most of the time.

Feel free to bring your own telescopes or binoculars if you have them.  This photo is from one of the recent Star Watches.... bring your camera and tripod.

A camp chair is nice if you have one.... you can sit back and enjoy the night sky.

The white light from flashlights interferes with our night vision... if you have a headlamp with a red light that would be best.

Look for Dorothy's black Jeep Liberty.  Feel free to text me if you have any questions at[masked]-9660.

I may have to cancel, pretty sure I'm not getting over this cold or whatever it is in time. So bummed...

I spoke with Bernard (park volunteer), we are still going to have star watch tonight. The clouds are supposed to clear in a few hours according to the website they use.

Please dress for cold temperatures. Warm boots, hats, gloves, etc. as we will be standing around rather than than hiking.

    See you soon.

I will contact Bernard (park volunteer) later in the day on Friday to see what they have decided. Skies can change rapidly and they usually do not make a decision until later in the day. Check this site before you make the trip to Grafton.

Anyone know if this will still take place if it is partly cloudy?

I have to play this by ear due to schedule timing. However, it sounds like a wonderful outing with like-minded folks whom I would like to meet.

Had to cancel this one too! I'm singing at the Cathedral on the evening of the 25th.
