Hike /Snowshoe Hand Hollow


Hand Hollow Conservation Area provides critical wildlife habitat and includes ponds, a lake, wetlands, marshes, hardwood swamp, streams, fields, meadows and vernal pools. Beaver ponds on the eastern side of the property provide important habitat for nesting great blue heron, otters and waterfowl.

This hike/snowshoe is an easy 2.5 miles.  Here is a link to the trail map:


Minimum age is 8 (8-15 yrs must have a participating adult with them, 16-17 yrs must have a parent/guardian sign participant agreement but do not need to attend)

please be dressed for the weather

dress in layers

wear appropriate hiking footwear or snowshoes.  If no snow bring traction device such as stabilicers.

please bring water, snacks and any personal medicines you may need

Hat, sunscreen

bring your camera or binoculars if you have them

dogs are not allowed at any LL Bean outing

    is this appropriate for people who haven't snowshoed before? And can we bring a 10 and 12 year old?

      I don't think we'll have to worry about snow shoes unless we get a huge snow dump! Children over the age of 8 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
