See you tomorrow at 10
Dress for the cold and the wind :)

We will be  snowshoeing (over 2 feet of snow in Grafton) the 2 new trails Beech Nut and White Lily Conklin Pass by White Lily Pond.  We will be parking at the White Lily Parking area.  Stay on Route 2 until you reach the Grafton Elementary School (about 2 miles past the main park entrance).  Take a left onto Babcock Lake Road then go for about 3/4 mile... parking area is on the left.  It is easy to miss.  If you go around a sharp right hand curve you have gone too far.

The White Lily Conklin Pass trail is 1.25 miles long and the Beech Nut Trail is 2.25 miles long.  They do form a small loop but it is mostly an in and out trail for a total of about 4 miles.  These trails are rated as moderate, mostly due to the length, but there are a few ups and downs along the way.  No significant elevation gain.

I will update trail conditions as it gets closer to the outing.

Minimum age is 8 (8-15 yrs must have a participating adult with them, 16-17 yrs must have a parent/guardian sign participant agreement but do not need to attend)

It didn't take long to warm up and the trek was beautiful. A nice balance of hiking and tracking with Dorothy who has wealth of knowledge. Thank you Dorothy and Betsy.

I have to cancel. I didn't realize it's the same day as a class I signed up for at HVCC. The class runs from 8 - 11, so I couldn't possibly make it for the hike. Very disappointing!

Looking forward to shoeing and meeting everyone . My husband and I enjoyed the winter carnival Grafton had a month or so ago but wasn't able to catch up with the group hike .

I signed up myself, my son Caleb and my housemate Linda--but she'll need snowshoes from the park or anyone's extras (she's small). I hope that's okay~
