we will be snowshoeing to the Water Tower and then up the Hicks Trail. the distance will be the same as the earlier posted hike
Please be courteous and take your name off the RSVP list today if you are able to attend.
See you tomorrow at 10
Dress for the cold and the wind :)
We will be snowshoeing (over 2 feet of snow in Grafton) the 2 new trails Beech Nut and White Lily Conklin Pass by White Lily Pond. We will be parking at the White Lily Parking area. Stay on Route 2 until you reach the Grafton Elementary School (about 2 miles past the main park entrance). Take a left onto Babcock Lake Road then go for about 3/4 mile... parking area is on the left. It is easy to miss. If you go around a sharp right hand curve you have gone too far.
The White Lily Conklin Pass trail is 1.25 miles long and the Beech Nut Trail is 2.25 miles long. They do form a small loop but it is mostly an in and out trail for a total of about 4 miles. These trails are rated as moderate, mostly due to the length, but there are a few ups and downs along the way. No significant elevation gain.
I will update trail conditions as it gets closer to the outing.
Minimum age is 8 (8-15 yrs must have a participating adult with them, 16-17 yrs must have a parent/guardian sign participant agreement but do not need to attend)
