Getting Started and Sustaining Agile at First American


David A. Brown, Director of Product Management at First American Database Solutions, will take us through why they chose to make a change, how they got started with agile practices, and why they chose Scrum. He will discuss what worked, what didn't work, and how to sustain and scale agile practices.

David will wrap things up by sharing the methods they are using to measure progress - beyond functioning software.

David will cover:

Your Speaker:

David A. Brown comes to the agile community with over 15 years of experience leading software solution projects of varying sizes focused in the healthcare and real estate-related industries. David has gained a breadth of experience leading teams from start-up companies to Fortune 500 companies.

David currently holds the position of Director of Product Management at First American Database Solutions where he mentors and leads teams in developing applications to serve the real estate title and mortgage lending spaces. David serves as the chief agile evangelist within his division and hopes to expand the adoption of agile practices throughout First American Financial Corporation as an Agile Coach.

David has earned multiple certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Product Owner (CSPO), PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), and ITIL v2 Foundations.

Exit the 5 or 405 at Sand Canyon.
From the 5, go south to Irvine Center and turn right.
From the 405, go north to Irvine Center and turn left.
Take the first right into the main parking lot at Capital Group.
Park (no permit needed), go to the main entrance, look for the signs.
