Best Practices for Share-Nothing HDFS solutions by Netapp's Gus Horn

The topic of discussion will be around best practices for share nothing HDFS solutions where affordable enterprise class storage can be leveraged for the same or less than typical DAS deployments.  In addition, he’ll be talking about some of the recent developments around our relationships with both Cloudera and Hortonworks, as they both bring unique value to this rapidly growing Big Data space.  Lastly, we’ll touch on how NetApp is currently leveraging Hadoop in production, and the business value this brings to our organization (see attached solutions brief).

About the speaker:

Gus Horn is Netapp's Global Solutions Architect for Hadoop/Bid Data Analytics.  With his global position he is focused on leveraging the NetApp Engenio acquisition in the Big Data space with an emphasis on Hadoop.  His areas of expertise are specific towards high performance file systems, computing and networking to provide the needed expert advice when architecting enterprise class systems.
