If You Can’t Play The Jug You Can’t Play With Me

First meetup of LA Makerspace’s How To Play Everything DIY music group.

Come on down and celebrate Do-It-Yourself music with ... and the Leasebreakers, the original non-stop Jug band!

You don’t know how to play the jug? John the Jug will teach you!

… and the Leasebreakers will demonstrate and explain how to play spoons, washboards, washtub bass and the dozens of other other noise … er … music making devices they’ll bring along.

Jug band music started with the stuff folks had around the house a century and a half ago, but your stuff works too. Bring empty 1 gallon plastic milk or water jugs, old tablespoons, combs. Washboards if you’ve got ‘em.

"... and the Leasebreakers" performs primarily at lease-breakings with free food, folk festivals, cowboy poetry and music festivals, worthy benefits, fun gatherings, baby showers, weddings, farm stands, dramatic performances, community gardens and parties with free food. They have scored and performed the soundtrack live for over a dozen silent Western feature films (for free food). This is their first ever maker space workshop. Another first for LA Makerspace!

Where’s the food?

We are a Ukulele-friendly facility.

Remember to bring an empty 1 gallon water or milk jug to play! Old tablespoons and washboard if you have them.

Looking forward so seeing you tomorrow!
