Arthur Lee Johnson Memorial Park (map)
Please be reminded that it is a Nihonken Hozonkai attended dog show. Please be respectful and quiet during the event. Barking/growling (non-showing) dogs will be asked to be removed. Ring etiquette is essential. Only the judge, ring steward, photographer and showing dogs are to be in the ring or around it's entrances and exits.
Please come with tents, chairs, lunches, drinks & water for your pooches. All well-behaved Shibas are welcome.
Potty areas are away from the judging areas. Please pick up after yourselves and your dogs. Please NO flexi-leads. Please keep your Shibas on 6 foot leads or shorter.
All dogs attending the show must be in cages, x-pens, or attended to at all times by their owner and current on all vaccinations.
There will be "Shiba gear" available for sale. Thank you....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To "show" your dog, your dog must be Nippo registered.
Registration is at 8AM
Judging begins at 9AM
There is a break for lunch and then Final Judging resumes after lunch.
There are really great raffle items at this event, and it's a fun day of watching all of the Shibas being judged. I'm a member of the Beikoku club and it's a really good group of Shiba lovers. But like Masako said, it wouldn't be appropriate to let your Shibas run around and play or bark like at other meet-ups. It is a real show so we need to respect that. Have fun...see ya there.
Yes, Momo... The 2nd loose Shiba was caught over by the cars in the parking lot. It was close, but they got her.

Thanks Jesse - its nice to see Koa actually playing with another dog. She usually is a "Shiba Snob"!
Thank you so much Jesse - you're awesome! Love the video, so cute how they could have played all day. It was great seeing everybody, it has been so long. Great day!
Great video Jesse! Thanks for posting it. Gotta make the next meet up!!

This event may be boring for most Shibas and some of their owners as we cannot let our dogs off-leash to play like other Meetup events. Much of the judging is conducted in Japanese. There's no harm in coming without your Shibas if you want to learn more about the Nippo standard and appreciate some really beautiful Shibas.
If you do want to go out with your Shibas and burn off some energy, I suggest the "Woofstock" event in Beverly Hills... :)
