We have four people for a Shakespeare scene. There's a five person scene I'm thinking I'd like to do...the three witches meet MacBeth and Banquo, MacBeth, which is kind of fun and not too "heavy." It would be great to get one more person. If not we could have one person read two witch parts.

I'll do it -- have done it.

Super awesome thanks! Anyone can do witch because I'm not looking for the old fashioned cackling hag although if that's what makes your boat float I won't fight you on it.... ;)

Need five people for an original scene reading in April. It's the morning of Julie's wedding. Everything is great... except for Julie's family, the Rabbi and her groom, who is stuck at the airport. CAST: Julie-the Bride; her Mom; her grandfather: the Rabbi; the piano player (man or woman). Henry has agreed to direct. Thanks, John

Lady Macbeth or Hamlet - has been played in the past by several women. Looking forward .....

Afterthought -- for the classics maybe we could read round robin so everyone gets a chance, instead of assigning one character per actor for the entire play.

I would like to do a Shakespeare reading from Macbeth or Richard III. Pls contact me if interested... [masked]

I tried to reply to this earlier from my phone but the send mechanism didn't work! George, I'm so glad you're interested. Al Pacino urges Americans and the general public not to fear Shakespeare, and rest assured I'm not going to choose a super heavy scene that requires an Olivier level of thespian mastery to execute the scene. I'm going to pick something conversational. Also, just about every production I've seen on TV or on film, and also some on stage, tweak the language here and there to make it easier to say and understand. I would like people to use their own American accents, no muss no fuss.

      1 · March 14, 2013

    • George L

I've read most of the works and seen quite a few productions. And if Al Pacino tells me as an American to do it, well, hoo-ha! I'm down.

    Hi Henry,

Don't know if you saw my message to you. Laura said you might be interested in directing an original 10 minute play in April. It's about Julie's wedding. She knows exactly what she wants. The only problem is her family, the Rabbi and the groom, who's stuck at the airport. The only one on her side is Dieter, the German musician. Dieter plays organ in a silent movie theater because he hates songs with words. Interested? John
