Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who
believe that player-focused game development can result in great
games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to
critical and player acclaim. As the most-played online PC game in the
world, over 32 million play every month. Players form the foundation
of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and
improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who
can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us,
you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace
those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who
have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That’s where you come in.

As Associate User Researcher, you’ll equip Riot’s leadership with the
information they need to make good decisions by designing and
executing studies that help us understand the players better. As a
member of the User Experience Team, you’ll work with teams across Riot
to assess their research requirements and then design custom-built
studies to gather the information they need. You’ll also run lab
studies, administer surveys, and prepare presentations aimed at
providing leadership with the intel they need to make well-informed
decisions.

You are:

Experimentally experienced: you have prior experience in applied or
experimental research, preferably with user testing; a bachelor’s
degree in Psychology or a related field will put you ahead of the
curve

A prudent planner: you’re able to adapt to shifting priorities, and
know when it’s time to meticulously construct a hyper-detailed
experiment and when it’s time to prioritize efficiency in response to
a abridged timeline

Data-driven: you’re able to quantify the seemingly unquantifiable,
and devise ways to scientifically measure any issue through targeted
research; you’re able to interpret test results through careful
analysis, converting them into actionable insights

An equipped communicator: you’re able to easily interface with teams
across Riot, investigating and interpreting their research needs and
devising experiments that yield actionable information; you’re pro
with PowerPoint and have excellent presentation skills to help keep
leaders in the know

Player-focused: your passion for League of Legends drives you to
deep-dive problems in search of valuable insight that will help
improve the player experience

You will:

Work with teams all across Riot to create specific, targeted
experiments that answer specific questions and enable good
decision-making

Design, organize, and execute studies and surveys designed to answer
business, development, and usability questions

Run and moderate labs, guiding participants through a set of tasks
and prompting them for genuine, actionable feedback

Present your results to leadership in a clear, straightforward manner
