Words can't even describe how happy the first game of the year made me. After the long months since the playoff loss...and all the crap I've had to put up with coming out of my friends from Baltimore...god that felt amazing! (Also note - haven't heard from my friends from Baltimore and haven't even been able to reach one of them...I think he might have drowned himself in the Atlantic).
Next up - the Giants. Before the games yesterday a good friend from NY was telling me how it's Eli's time and how they're going to own us. However, after the stinker the Giants laid on the field yesterday she's now not only stopped talking smack...but she's said she's praying to the football gods to at least not be totally embarrassed this year (I'll give it to her - at least she doesn't disappear when things go sideways for her team).
Personally, I think we're going to take the G-Men behind the woodshed...but I don't think we can count on the Giants playing another game that would have embarrassed a high school JV squad. They've got a pretty decent coach and some talent (not RBs though and there's been some talk of them signing McGahee - that would make for an even more interesting game).
Anyway, not going to send a wall of text at you. But I'd like to extend a personal thanks from me and Jason to all of you who came out for the first week. Our meetup group started with 6 members in 2008 and it's amazing to see how much it's grown and how much fun football days/nights have become. You all make a massive alcohol filled turnout feel like a Sunday afternoon spent with family (just picture for a second, if you will, the same number of Raiders fans all watching a game...there'd be 12 stabbings before half time) - so thank you all. And thank to Brennan's for taking care of us and giving us an awesome place to gather.
As always: if any new members have any questions feel free to shoot either me or Jason an email and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible. See you all in a few days.
And oh yeah - Go Broncos!!!
