Learn to Row

Technically this isn't paddling but I thought some paddlers would like to try something new. At Learn to Row you will get information about rowing, try out the rowing machines and get some time on the water. We will be taking out boats of eight people with a mix of seasoned rowers and people learning for the first time. Register to get a spot in a boat. http://www.jotformpro.com/form/41885702173962

    How much is it

You are correct. It is an any time offer, but thought I'd get the plug in when people were paying attention. :-) I can see where it might get int he way of those big 8s out on the water full of neophytes. So, I can be there or not, but I'm available anytime to show the rig for free demos.

Wonder if adaptive will be operating there on Saturday. They have a tendency to not adjust their schedule for anyone or anything. But, we could still drop in there around 9:00 if that's not too early for you. I could even go earlier.

FYI - Lots going on this Saturday at the Community Boathouse 8:30-4:00 -- Adaptive Rowing, LRC Membership Meeting, Learn to Row. For Adaptive they need a lot of volunteers to help with unwieldy equipment, etc. So, they schedule it every Saturday and they start set up 8ish. It is the only time they go out. When we row on Saturdays we go out at 6:30 and come in before they get going.

May I sign up for 3pm on Saturday August 2nd? (the registration form on the link is not working)

    • Suzanne

Ellen - We have you on the list for 3 pm. The form is working again and it would be great if you could try again since there is other registration info that we need. Sorry and thanks!

I'll take 1pm if it's available. Or 2pm or 3pm. Doesn't really matter to me.

Rakesh - We have you down for 1 pm but the form is fixed now - if you could try again that would give us all the registration info we need. Thanks and sorry for the issues with the form! - Suzanne

Glad to see there are people interested! Those of you that have indicated that you will be going need to register in order to get a seat in a boat. The boats take out eight people at a time and we have to coordinate that ahead of time. There are boats going out at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00.

Suzanne, Which time slots are still available? Also, if I bring a group of 8, can we all go out together?

      July 27

    • Suzanne

Linda - We have you down for 1:00. Angel - I believe that 1:00 is full at this point. We would love a group of eight but would have to split you between 2 boats. We need to have 4 seasoned rowers in the boat with 4 new folks. Let me know what time you are interested in and I'll see if it is open for 8 people.

I sent a message earlier asking if I could bring a SUP board fitted with a rowing unit. I never got a reply. The SUP board rows just like a conventional single scull, but in a matter of minutes can become a stand up paddle board again.

Hi Bob - I'm interested! I didn't realize your earlier post was about bringing it to Learn to Row - just thought it was a general offer. My sense is that Learn to Row is probably not the right time but I'm going to get in touch with the Organizer with your offer. I'm going to guess that others would be interested & we could set up another time. I'll keep you posted.

I have a Row Board unit which allows people to row a SUP board. Any one interested in seeing it put to use?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
