Not a problem.  I had considered ocean kayak because they have the sit on top and a knee space, plus the lighter weight.  Dick's has had one, but no longer does.  I will check out your ideas and I do appreciate the info.

---Mary,

I don't mean to jump in here but I also have back issues and I like sit on top
kayaks. With a sit on top you can purchase a seat that supports your spine. For
you Mary check out the Ocean Kayak Venus 11, Built for a woman. Another good
thing about a sit on top is if you fall off you just flip your kayak over and
get back on. No draining. Go to Surf to Summit and check out the GTS Expedition
Molded Foam Kayak seat. That is the top of the line. you can look for more
affordable models but get a good one. Your back will thank you. Check it all
out on line.

outdoor rec, said there is a kind of rack one can buy, plus a set of straps and
I've seen pics of the canoe on top of sedans where it is tied to both front and
rear of car.? I'm going to get one of those seatbacks too for myself.? We can
either go halves on the carrier pieces and straps or I can buy them and share
when you can go on trip and I can't.

looking for friends to go half in on a canoe since Dick's has a good one with
permanently attached seat backrests for $499.?I've?been checking craigslist for
several months and missed one.? Also have checked Ebay, but they are almost all
no delivery and in the northeast.?Each of us would have to have a paddle, life
jacket, carrier and straps in order to trade off when?one can't go.

> Meetup Description: This is another opportunity to paddle Floyds Fork before
it dries up for the year. Brian and I did this paddle last Saturday, and we had
to cancel it the week before due to the fast current. There's no rain in the
forecast, and the level is already below where it was when we did the paddle
this past Saturday, so it looks like we're in the clear. If anything, we might
not have enough water in the river to paddle it. We'll try to post visual
observations Thursday or Friday. Check the comments here and in the forum to
stay up to date.

or dry riverbed. We can work out the details of the shuttle then. We will
take-out at the Fisherville canoe access site. It took Brian and I about 3 1/2
hours without much actual paddling, and with a few breaks.
