I played violin from a young age, and then stopped in high school to focus on singing. Until recently, I lived in San Francisco with my cellist sister, Leah, and I began to work up my violin skills again by playing string quartets with her and other friends in the S.F. Subway.
I'm a recent graduate from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music opera program. (I'm a soprano!) Tom Metzler and Barbara Don are my parents, so naturally I had a violin shoved into my hands when I was 4 years old. I'm excited to meet new people!
This group is filling a much needed niche in the L.A. area - I don't know of anything else like it. The coaches are top-rate local professionals, teaching orchestral skills to adult beginners. As for the members of the ensemble, what a fun and inspirational group of people! Everybody brings a different story to the ensemble, whether they are picking their instruments up again after a long hiatus, or whether they are new to their instruments completely. I am having a great time meeting and making music with these cool, interesting folks.
