Wow, it's been 6 years already...since the fateful day of Dec 29, 2007 when I took over this group so bravely while I knew absolutely nobody in the group - I'd never met nor even communicated with anybody before. I was a total stranger to the group.
But strangely my inner voice had been growing louder daily to the point I couldn't resist anymore, and when I officially became a foster mother of this abandoned child it was just 2 hours shy before the group's scheduled extinction. Whew!
I was determined to raise the baby on my own. But the nicest surprise was that after Meetup announced my adoption, many members I'd never met or known started emailing me to give me warm support, thanks, congrats and ideas. A determined single mother was not so single any more with all the help I got from the members) It instantly changed my lonely life as a foreigner with not many friends in this town.
To celebrate the 6th anniversary, I chose this brand new French restaurant which just opened last month on the same spot where Campanile and La Brea Bakery started... I still remember those days when people started to talk about the bakery when I had my first baby in 1989!)

Just recently I had a chance to try their food and I loved it. I talked to Christian, general manager, and reserved a long table for 16 people on Dec 30th (they are not open on Dec 29th, Sunday). I'll talk with him again next Monday about the menu, so details will be still yet to come. Once finalized, I might need to collect deposit to avoid no-shows, but I just wanted to give you some headsup now.
Hope to see you soon,
