Dear members,

I wish I could ever find a way to tell you - each one of you who are reading this now - how much I really really appreciate your involvement in the group. Even if you've never had a chance to come to any of my meetups, I know we speak the same foodie language, and I also know that one day we will meet.) I am especially grateful for the help and support my members, friends and family have shown and given me through all these years.

Thank you very much, everyone, and I wish you happy holidays and a joyful new year.

Looking back it was in June 2009 when I had a meetup going to an Ethiopian restaurant by our member Linus' suggestion:

http://www.meetup.com/LACooking/events/10647842/?action=detail&eventId=10647842

Then a new member Mimi, originally from Ethiopia, took us to another Ethiopian restaurant.

http://www.meetup.com/LACooking/events/13627585/?action=detail&eventId=13627585

I can't believe it's been more than 3 and a half years, and now I'm very delighted to announce this Ethiopian cooking lesson by an Ethiopian lady Yemi. She was born in Harar, Ethiopia and grew up in Addis Ababa and will show us how to make traditional Ethiopian food:

-Doro wet (spicy stewed chicken with hard boiled eggs only served on special occasions)

-Meser wat (lentil)

-Gomen wet (collard green)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wat_(food)

It will be at Surfas again, and our member John who's in charge of the Test kitchen is giving us 10% coupon for kitchenware and 5% coupon for food purchase. Thank you very much again, John.

http://www.culinarydistrict.com

The class will be for 3 hours and to attend please sign up with $30 payment by Paypal. If you have any issue with Paypal, please let me know.

Thank you all again for being a member of my group and hope we have a chance to learn and cook together in 2013!

A question: I want to pay the $30 for the Ethiopian event at Surfa's but don't see anywhere on this page to link to paypal except for the $5 dues. Can I send it all as one payment?

    December 30, 2012

    • Sally

Sure, but the link on this page to pay for the class should be working too as I've received payments from other attendees.. Thank you.
