Yam's Nest with Wok Stir Fried Bok Choy
Pad Thai and Fried Crispy Noodles
Ginger Ice Cream Almond Milk
Raw Star Cafe in Santa Monica
The instructor who's originally scheduled to teach got sick and notified me he wouldn't be able to teach unfortunately. I needed to find someone else quickly. I was so fortunate to find someone thanks to many friends' help and retained another great chef for the class.
His name is Bryan Au, who's known for his amazing raw vegan food and he has an iphone app called "Eco Chef" ($2) He's published "Raw Star Recipe Book" which won #1 best vegan cookbook 2012 by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
He's born and raised in LA with Vietnamese background, started to cook vegetarian food at an early age of 12, became vegan at 27, and organic vegan at 29 and ever since he's been cooking and teaching passionately. He travels around the world, been to Japan to teach too) I had a chance to meet him recently and was inspired a lot by his love of raw vegan food and passion to cook and teach, which is also shared by me and my other past and upcoming secret instructors! lol
He just opened "Raw Star Cafe' in Santa Monica and will teach us three different dishes:
1) Yam's Nest with Wok Stir Fried Bok Choy
Yams, bok choy, goji berry, celery, dandelion greens, salad mix, balsamic vinegar, ginger
2) Pad Thai and Fried Crispy Noodles
kelp noodles, roma tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, mung bean, coconut amino, almonds
3) Ginger Ice Cream Almond Milk and Banana Coconut Cake with Fudge Frosting
ginger, almonds, water, cinnamon, coconut nectar, banana, coconut, carob
The class starts at 2:30pm as scheduled and around 4:30pm we start eating the food, and 5pm we need to start cleaning up to get out by 5:30pm. I've hired the helper/cleaner, but hope you can lend a hand for cleaning up if you can.
To attend, please make a prepayment of $40. It's half demo, half hands-on.
Sorry for the last-minute instructor/menu change, but I bet you'll love it and I know it's going to be sooooo much fun!! See you soon,
