Hometown: Los Angeles
November 2, 2012
There are so many it is difficult to choose. I wish there was a museum to the Red Cars---is there? My mother would speak of these fondly. The Coliseum is an amazing landmark! The Rose Garden close by...The Victorian homes downtown Los Angeles which were moved and/or torn down...Union Station & the Post Office on Sunset and Alameda
I would love to see old photographs when Los Angeles was just open land for miles; the streets unpaved with olive, orange, almond & other trees the only landscaping all the way to the ocean; the era when my ancestors began their history here!
The historical information was amazing! I discovered more about the Italian migration and community in Los Angeles than I had ever imagined. I am looking forward to the opening of the Italian American Museum---and discovering about more abut my family's roots in Los Angeles. The presenter, while seemingly well-versed in the subject, needed to be more familiar with her presentation material as she read the entire thing and stumbled 'uming' and 'ahhing' throughout. It was quite distracting and interrupted the flow. Or possibly she was unaccustomed to such a large audience?
