The Rose Parade needs no introduction. It's one of those things you have to see before you die, in person (why watch it in TV if you live in SoCal?). This year's theme is about travel.
The parade starts at 8:00 and lasts 2 hr.
* Meeting point: The Walgreens located at corner of Colorado blvd. and Sierra Madre blvd. I chose this location because it's a good viewing spot and it's far away from the big crowds.
* Parking: anywhere you can, as close as you can. Come as early as you can. ** If you come late, you may not get a parking spot nearby or a viewing spot on the curb **. 700,000+ people attend the parade each year. Some even camp overnight to secure a spot.
* What to bring: What you would bring for an outdoors event (camping chair, cooler, drinks, snacks, jacket, hat/cup, sunglasses, camera, etc.) What not to bring: glass bottles
Any questions?

Beto, my friend & I drove the route tonight and unless you have spaces for a group saved, we don't think there will room to sit together as a group so we are just going to walk and wander. Happy 2013 and enjoy the parade!

Metro's golden line is a great alternative to driving if you live West/SW of Pasadena. Take a look at the map to see if the route works for you: http://www.metro.net/riding/map...
The Allen ave. station is the closest to the meeting point. I'd be a long walk but less of a hassle than finding parking. Another option is to take the bus. There's a stop at the corner of Colorado & Sierra Madre.

The weather forecast is look great. Don't forget to bring warm clothes (jacket, hat, etc.). It's going to be chilly early in the morning: http://www.weather.com/weather/...![]()

FYI, I called the Vons. They'll be open but their parking lot will be closed to the public (other businesses will prob. do the same).

The City of Pasadena won't give you a ticket if you park (legally) on the street between 2:00 and 6:00. There are also private parking lots but they'll be charging up to $30/day. Tuesday morning I'm going to post/email updates giving you my exact location, parking info, etc. But you guys shouldn't wait for my update. Like said, try to arrive as early as possible BEFORE 7:00.

So, 7 am may not be early enough for parking & getting a spot? This is my 1st Rose Parade.

I know that parking is hard to find on this day,
does anyone want to carpool? I live in Torrance...
Thanks!
