Biblioqueer (WGG Book Club): The Fault In Our Stars (+Film Viewing)

As voted upon by members of the Biblioqueer group present at the last event (and then some)

From Wiki: The Fault in Our Stars is the fourth novel by author John Green, published in January 2012. The story is narrated by a sixteen-year-old cancer patient named Hazel, who is forced by her parents to attend a support group, where she subsequently meets and falls in love with the seventeen-year-old Augustus Waters, an ex-basketball player and amputee. The title is inspired by a famous line from Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar (Act 1, scene 2). The nobleman Cassius says to Brutus, 'The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, / But in ourselves, that we are underlings.'

We'll be meeting at the Westfield Century City Food Court right by the theater at about 12:15pm for lunch and book discussion, and we'll be going to see the film shortly thereafter. See more details in the comments for how to buy tickets, what seats and showtimes, etc.

I'm here. Right on time! At the tables by the restrooms, where we usually sit.

Okay, so the afternoon showtimes are between 1:25 and 4:25. Had to go with the 1:25. I'VE GOT SEAT G8, AND I RECOMMEND BUYING TICKETS NOW. You can buy yours here:

Be sure to change the day selected to this Saturday!

I'm moving the Meetup time to 12:15 instead of 1 -- hopefully you all can still make it! If not, then at least we can all watch the film together, lol. Plan is to meet briefly for lunch in the food court to discuss the book a bit. I also plan to stick around for another hour or so after the film, to discuss that, too. We'll probably be wrapping up near 5ish. :)

    See you all there!

For anyone running low on time to actually read the book, this is a great recitation of the book:

I read this book last year and I want to see the movie. But... planning six weeks ahead? Can I do it? Okay I'll go.
