Long Beach/Signal Hill Pack Walk

This is a great walk around Signal Hill. We start at the bottom on Saint Louis (crossroads Cherry and Hill) and take the trails that wind up the south side of the hill. Awesome views of Long Beach and the ocean. Once at the top, we cut through a park and head over to the north side and take Panorama Dr around to the east side. From here you can see the entire Long Beach Airport and if it's clear enough you can see downtown L.A.. At the end of the panoramic walk, there is a water fountain for pups. Once on the east side, we start going through some residential neighborhoods and back downhill to a another park. This is the second doggie station with poop bags and another water fountain for dogs. This is the turn around point where we head up a stair case straight back to the top of the hill and then we follow the same route back through Panorama Dr then back to the start.

The steep parts are steep but short. Just a minute or two. There will be several other dog walkers but the panoramic walk is closed to bikes and skateboarders; walkers only.

MEETING LOCATION: 2231 Saint Louis Avenue, Long Beach, CA.  This is a short dead end street. The trail starts here. Plenty of street parking.

TRAIL:  Dirt and pavement (approximately 3.3 miles roundtrip)

DIFFICULTY: Moderate/some small steep trails

DISTRACTION LEVEL: Minimal (other dogs on a walk)

WEATHER: Partly cloudy, low to mid-60's

In consideration of everyone's time, please be prompt.  We will begin our walk at 9:00 AM.

LARPBO Pack Walk Guidelines:

# 1 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes are not allowed as it provides little control.

#2 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). We recommend maintaining a six-foot distance.

#3 Please bring doggie poo bags.

#4 Make sure you bring water for you and your dog.

#5 One dog per handler.

#6 Share the road. Move to the right to let others pass.

* All breeds welcome.

* There will be lots of foot traffic and several others dogs. If your dog tends to be reactive to any of these distractions, please be EXTRA mindful and prepared.

* If you have additional questions, please read the full basic LARPBO rules of conduct in the discussion forum.

That's too bad. But tell me who you have coming by? I work at a local parts house for HVAC contractors. They might be a customer of mine.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
