This pack walk is not much about distance, but rather an easy stroll with our dogs along the neighborhood of LMU for about an hour. Meet at the LMU gate on W 80th Street and Loyola Blvd.
We'll come across many fire hydrants. I'd be glad to show you how to get your dog on one! Bring high-level treats or toy for encouragement!
PARKING: Free parking along W 80th Street; please obey street signs.
DIRECTIONS: For GPS address, enter 8000 Loyola Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045
TRAIL: Paved (approximately 1.5 miles round trip/1 hour long)
DISTRACTION LEVEL: Moderate (We may encounter off-leash dogs at one of the open areas. If necessary, we will cross the street to make sure off-leash dogs keep their distance. Dogs participating in a LARPBO hosted pack walk must remain leashed at all times!)
WEATHER: Low-70's. Westchester gets windy; consider bringing a jacket.
LARPBO Pack Walk Guidelines:
# 1 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes are not allowed as it provides little control.
#2 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). We recommend maintaining a six-foot distance.
#3 Please bring doggie poo bags.
#4 Make sure you bring water for you and your dog.
#5 One dog per handler.
#6 Share the road. Move to the right to let others pass.
* All breeds welcome.
* There will be foot traffic, cars, maybe bicyclists, and several others dogs. If your dog tends to be reactive to any of these distractions, please be EXTRA mindful and prepared.
* If you have additional questions, please read the full basic LARPBO rules of conduct in the discussion forum.
