Yes, an 8-9 month old pitbull, Victor.
Yes, he's neutered.
Socialization and an opportunity to advocate on behalf of the breed. I've always loved Pitbulls (previously rescued a Pit/Boxer mix that was a total lover). Now that I've decided to keep Victor, I see first-hand how the breed is discriminated against, and people's deeply held fear and distrust of the breed.
I'm a professional social worker, originally from Louisiana, and in LA since August. I took Victor in back in August, shortly after moving here. He'd been rescued from a street in south central LA where another loose dog was hit and killed. My cousin took him in, but couldn't keep him and asked me for help. He's been with me ever since and I thought about re-homing him once he was neutered, but I think he's a keeper. Although my original pack of 3 seniors (11 - 13 year old rescues) are not happy about an active puppy. So, I'm trying to network to keep him active and social.

I am new to Los Angeles, and almost immediately took in a 4 month old Pitbull pup that had been rescued from south central LA.Though I didn't intend a new puppy, he's been a great welcome to L.A.
This was my first meet-up but it seems like a good way to meet other owners to share stories and advice.
