Visit with Sparkfun for DIY Wearabless

The Spark Fun National Tour is stopping at The Exploratory on Sat June 15th from 9-4pm for an all day workshop using the arduino Lilypad. You will learn how to program and use the LilyPad Development Kit to add lights, sounds and even motors to textiles.

The class is being taught by a Spark Fun Education teacher and you will walk away with a $65.00 Lily Pad Development kit and tons of knowledge and inspiration.

The cost is $95 - which means an all day class for only $35!! It doesn't get any better than this.

Bring some fabric, old clothes, new clothes, anything that you want to bling out.

Bring a picnic lunch or you can go to the near by restaurants during break.

Registration and Information Here - Only 20 Seats available -

That's a good question - but unfortunately we don't have the resources to do so for tomorrow. We will have other classes over the summer. So stay tuned.

This sounds amazing, but I have a really packed day. Is there any chance this might be recorded? I would gladly pay for that. Thanks!

Unfortunately we have too many things going on this day, otherwise we would be there. Hope to see a repeat opportunity later in the summer, in unison with LARC. Would like to make some wearable bling for my daughter for an event she has in August.

Yes - Lets do that ! I would love to do one specific with LA Robotics - Annika - how do we go about doing that?

George - You will learn how to use Arduino and the LilyPad Development Board to add lights, tones and buzzers to fabric. There are touch sensors, temperature sensors and switches that you can customize your design. Please bring clothing or bags or anything else that you would like to add electronics to.

Just getting started, and probably not read for an all-day. I'll opt out for now, so those 20 seats go to better prepared folks. See you at the next meeting.

Is there a coupon for the group to get in or is this an advertisement? I can post about it on my website, but I don't use the meetup site for advertisers. You can post it in the announcements area if it's not an open invite.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
