Howdy, I'm a hw/sw weenie. Latest endeavor involves the design & fabrication of a wireless weather-station. My design employs Atmel processors, Nordic chips, a wireless (ISM) USB interface, + all the standard sensors it is solar powered.
I've constructed a few RC helicopters, they are robots too! I constructed a nicely made kit-built LynxMotion hexa-pod, & it was fairly kewl, especially after I chucked out the recommended BASIC Stamp (it crapped out) & got rid of the timing incompatible LynxMotion PS-2 WII controller, replaced with a std PS-2 controller, & I stuck in a nice Atmel chip, rewrote code, --it worked fairly well, but it consumes a lot of power. Hah!...it needs to haul around a gas-generator 'cause its a hungry six-legged monster! Lately been focusing on environment sensors. I'm interested in GPS, I was the lead eng'r on a DoD Control-Segment GPS DSP Rx. In my home lab, I have 2x HP-8616A Function Generators, HP Power-supplies, 2 GHz Frq Ctr, 2x Tek scopes; an Intronix 32 ch USB LA1034, and Tek 131 ch TLA704 Logic analyzers. I also home-brewed a functional PID SMD a (toaster) reflow oven. One MicroMark Mini-Mill. I also have a std ver of Eagle 5.5 PCB CAD & 2004 AutoCAD, and oodles of SW dev tools.
Mostly military applications...
Lots'a bench-knobin' with other gear-heads! :)
Hi Plutron! WELCOME to Florida MUFON. So glad to have you on the site! Please let us know if you're ever in the area and can make a meeting. I look forward to meeting you.
Hi there Tron! Welcome to the group and I have a feeling you would be very in tune with our Monday Alchemical Shamanic Voyage Meditations... look forward to meeting you soon ~Naha
Hey! Thanks for recommending the cafe in Studio City. I'm going to hold off on that idea for a bit because most of our members are coming from the LB area and that would be too much of a drive for a Friday evening.
