What kinds of robotics projects are you most interested in working on?

I've been playing with interactivity using Basic Stamps, sensors and servos. I keep bumping into the limits of what Stamps can do for me and am now starting to to work with Propeller to take my work to the next level. Damn that learning curve!

How would you describe your experience with robots?

Mechanically, I can hold my own with the best of them. I am pretty handy with basic electronics, motion control, and power systems. Programming is not my thing... I'm good with PBasic and I was even competent in Assembly back in college, but no more.

What do you hope to gain from this Meet-up group?

I'm looking to meet other smart, creative people I can share ideas with, learn from, show off too, collaborate with, and assist me with my plans for global domination (not really, global domination sounds like a headache).

I am an animatronic designer for the entertainment industry as well as a fine artist. I have frequent bouts of"wouldn't it be cool if... " and as a result I have a workshop full of mechanical contraptions. Anyone up for a collaboration?

What Brian P. is saying about this Meetup Group

The LARC is a good group of people out to have fun making robots. This group has only been around for a couple of months and I'm betting it'll be around for some time to come.
