Hi gang. Location is now posted. This is a new meetup spot so please take note. There is lots of parking at the 3rd street entrance to the store.

Please don't be late (note to self...), gas up, check tire pressure, etc. as we have a good long ride ahead of us. The ride to the event will be the scenic route and take us through beach cities and the Palos Verdes Peninsula on the way to LB. Coming back we will take the direct route and make time.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Don't forget to bring your ticket!

The Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach is one of the best places to see new and forthcoming scooter and motorcycle models and to browse, shop for and try on helmets, clothes and other gear. I rode down last year and while not the most exciting ride the show itself was a lot of fun. Piaggio/Vespa/Aprilia, Genuine, Kymco, Honda, Yamaha, Vectrix and a few other scooter companies had big displays.

The route is TBD but will involve stretches of 45MPH or 55MPH roads (no freeways) which may be a little challenging for the smaller-CC/slower scoots. We we'll certainly try to accommodate anyone who's interested in going.

Show info is here: http://www.motorcycleshows.com/LongBeach

Its that time of year again. Lets hit some holiday light displays! We will meet at NoHo Scooters at 6PM. From there we will hit some displays in the Studio City area before we go to Griffith Park for the annual DWP Light Festival. From there its off to Altadena's Christmas Tree Lane and Balian Mansion. Its only a short ride from there to Pasadena's Upper Hastings Ranch light display where every block is decorated with a different theme. The ride will wind up at Clearman's Galley AKA "The Boat" in San Gabriel.

This is a night ride and it can get a bit chilly this time of year, so dress accordingly. Be prepared to lane split to the head of the line at Griffith Park or we will be there forever.

If you know of any other displays we should be hitting in this area, let me know.

The 2010 (33rd) Pasadena Doo Dah Parade is January 17. Last year we put together a group of scooterists to ride in the parade and everyone had a blast! If eccentricity is your cup of tea, then this is the event for you!

For those who have not been to the parade or seen the event, words can not describe it, so I suggest you do a YouTube search and check out some of the videos. There are also a bunch of photos of last years Meetup posted in our photo section.

The event is still a long ways off but last year, we had great ideas for a group costumes, but no time to prepare any. Well, this year we will not be caught in the same position!

I will post a message where we can all share our ideas for group costumes. This is the Doo-Dah Parade, so needless to say, anything goes. So long as we can pull it off at minimal expense. We'll go with whatever one everyone gets the most excited about.

Visit the Doo-Dah Parade website for more info. Last year there a $10 fee per vehicle (charged by the parade organizers). I imagine it will be the same or slightly more this year.

After the parade, we'll ride to another location for some eats.

Some of these details will change as we get closer to the ride, but for now we'll meet at Trails on Fern Dell just inside Griffith Park and ride to Pasadena, where we'll likely meet up with some other riders at a location TBD.

This is an all-scooters ride open to everyone, so feel free to invite your scootering pals, even if they're not meetup group members or to spread the word via the scooter groups and forums. Also, if you haven't yet, please check out our group riding tips before coming out.

Look forward to hearing everyones costume ideas and seeing you there!
