RSVPs for available spots or to join the waiting list will open at noon on Monday, Feb. 11!
This is a new date for a ride we cancelled in November due to rain. Those who were RSVP'd for the original date were offered first chance to attend this one.
Now that the initial crowds have probably subsided, we think it's high time that we go and see the USS Iowa. For those of you who don't know, the USS Iowa was a World War II battleship that docked in San Pedro California in July of last year. They're now running tours daily.
We'll start at our frequent meet up spot on Sunset and PCH at the Vons market. KSU ("Kick Stands Up") at 10 am.
From there we'll continue on down the coast, then up to Lincoln Boulevard, Manhattan Beach and eventually to Palos Verdes. The route around Palos Verdes Peninsula is one of the most scenic rides the area has to offer.
We'll stop in Palos Verdes at the California Interpretive Center and take a short break. It's a beautiful site with sweeping vistas and a very nice place to take us short break. There's also a free small museum that has a section for the old Marineland. Remember that?
We'll continue down scenic Palos Verdes and drop down into San Pedro and to the USS Iowa.
Here is the website to purchase the USS Iowa tickets ahead of time: https://tickets.pacificbattleship.com/mainstore.asp
LIMITED TIME: Discount via Groupon for 2-4 tickets. If you want to get some and split with others, post in the comments below.
The cost is $18. We encourage all participants to purchase the tickets beforehand, although there will probably be an opportunity to purchase tickets on the day of the ride if you don't. We realize that there is a group discount for the tickets. However from past experience, we have found it's just too difficult to collect, purchase and distribute the tickets with a group like ours.
After the Iowa, we'll continue on to lunch at the world-famous San Pedro ports of call. Here's the website so you can decide ahead of time what food you might want to eat:
After lunch, you'll be responsible for getting yourself home, so be sure to map out the route back. There will probably be other members headed to your part of town, so check in with the comments for this ride.
Should be a lot of fun. See you there. Ahoy, mate!
This ride is suitable for all riders and scooters 125cc+.
As always, please read our Group Policies and Riding Guidelines before attending an LASG ride!
