It's summer in SoCal and time for the 11th Annual Swerve 'n' Curve Scooter Rally hosted by our friends at the South Bay Scooter Club. This is a great day of scooter camaraderie and riding around the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula suitable for all 125cc scooters and larger.
The rally takes place on both Friday August 13th and Saturday the 14th but our MeetUp ride will be to the Saturday 14th day ride only. You are welcome to attend both days if you wish. Complete rally information is here
We will meet at the Starbuck's Coffee, 3rd St. and Fairfax Ave., at 9:30am, departing at 10am sharp. Here is the route we will be taking
should you be late and need to catch up.
The time of our return ride is TBD but as always you are welcome to depart whenever you wish.Itinerary for the Rally:
Friday August 13th (no MeetUp ride to this)
7pm: Meet 'N' Greet at Claim Jumper restaurant in Torrance (corner of Crenshaw and Lomita Blvds)
8pm: Night ride leaves for a quick tour of dark hills and roads in Palos Verdes.
9pm: Ride ends at Hennessey's Tavern in Redondo Beach.Saturday August 14th (day of our ride)
11am: Meet at Claim Jumper restaurant in Torrance (corner of Crenshaw and Lomita Blvds).
12pm: Ride leaves for the famous "Swerve 'N' Curve route" through Palos Verdes and the South Bay Beach Cities. Ride ends at TBD for Scooter Raffle and party.
Please note, as with all our rides to scooter rallies, we are organizing the ride to the event and the ride back. The event itself is run by the group hosting, in this case the South Bay Scooter Club, and we are all invited guests along for the ride. Rallies can range from mild to wild so if at any time your comfort level is exceeded, do what is best for you. In my experience there are always riders of all levels present and everyone can expect to have a great day. That said, I highly recommend everyone read our group riding guidelines
as there will likely be over 100 scooters riding together (118 last year) and you will enjoy the ride all the more, not to mention make it a safer day for everyone, if you know what to do. As always gas up and check your tire pressure before the ride. You know the drill.
This should be a great day of scooter riding and a ton'o'fun. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
