What time is the meetup at Trails?  11:30?

Greetings everyone...

The votes have been cast in our first "member suggested" Meal on Wheels ride. Thanks to all who posted their suggestions and for helping me see if/how this whole "member suggested" experiment would work. It has been great having you all involved!

There were some really fantastic sounding eateries suggested, that's for sure. I have been hungry for the past two weeks and want to visit them all! Alas, some will just have to be saved for another ride.

After getting a feel for how the suggestions etc. were shaping up, for this ride we are making a slight modification and riding to just two places, with a bit more riding in between.

So without further ado, the selections for this Meal on Wheels ride are... drum roll please...

The Oinkster
2005 Colorado Blvd., Eagle Rock, CA

Yes, we're heading East for a change! Starting from our usual place, The Trails Caf (so you can get some food to tide you over until the serious eating starts...), our route begins by taking us to Eagle Rock and the The Oinkster! where they are famous for making everything they serve in-house, chicken, sandwiches, pulled-pork, pastrami, evern their ketchup!

After bulking up there for the next leg of the journey, we continue east and ride to... another drum roll please...

Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain
1526 Mission St, Pasadena

It's off to old Route 66 and to The Fair Oaks Soda Fountain where since 1915 people have cooled off on hot days with some of their amazing, old school, fountain drinks and ice cream. If you've never been, you're in for a cool, tasty treat. Best leave the diet plan at home...

From Fair Oaks we will take a relaxing, full-bellied, ride back to Fern Dell where the ride began. As always, those who want to disperse as we pass close to their home are free to do so.

Here is the preliminary route. It may be modified slightly if I get some good local route info before Sunday.

Please take a fresh read of our group riding guidelines so everyone is on the same page when it comes to safe group riding.

I look forward to seeing everyone and to a day of good food and riding!
