It's now more than 10 years since we have seen the first
proposal for the Resource Description Framework (RDF). Though RDF has
served us well in many ways it's also time to look at some of it's
shortcomings and introduce some new features.
We would like to solicit the community here for ideas and ask you
to share your experience with us to make a strong case for a new or
updated RDF recommendation. Such a discussion is typically held in
public and implemented in a working group at the W3C.
On February 4, 2010 Chris Welty will join us at a New York Semantic
Web Meetup event to present his findings and will discuss details
of the process to bring these changes into the RDF recommendation. The more
practitioners are involved in the process the better.
session in New York seems like a good opportunity to collect some of this information, and
we're looking for some volunteers to do that during the session and
present it during the 2/4 meeting in New York.
if New York is not your preferred meet-up location, we should still
collect information from Los Angeles as well and plan for a future
meeting at the Los Angeles Semantic Web meetup.
