The museum has 125 years of National Geographic on display.

i previously slated this for the same day as the anticipated downtown shoot. I am changing it to this weekend March 22nd. Sorry for the change. I will be at the museum at 11am. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome. No rsvp needed. just show up. Please visit the annenbergspaceforphotography.org it has very specific instructions for parking. I made the mistake of validating my ticket on the way in. I was a co$tly error. The admission is free. If the parking is done correctly it is $4 per car. This exibit will run another couple of weeks if you want to catch it. It is 125 years of National Geographic Photos. Hope to see you there.

I arrived abut 11:15. I loved it. Yes, some of the same photographs were repeated but that didn't matter to me. It was very interesting. I think this would be hard to go through as a group because everyone goes through it at their own pace.

I hope all had a good time. The only person I meet up with was Susan. I was there until about 230. Who ever was there I would like to hear how it was for you. Would you have liked it to have been better structured or you got what you wanted from the day. Thanks

I think, in general, non-photography meet ups don't necessarily need RSVP's and their postings are informational. It wasn't an event where we could do anything as a group so I don't know what more you could have done, Dani. I'm glad you posted it because it goaded me into finally going to an exhibit I kept promising myself to go to. I had enough by 12:30 pm and walked around Century City taking photographs, had lunch then went home. I had a nice day.

Looks to me like a lot of people made it ..

I did not take it personally. People do what they do and it has nothing to do with me. Some people are willing to drive to the moon for a different photo. Some people have good intentions and leave it at that. I went in with the mindset of this is really what I want to do. If I am the only person that shows up, I will have a good time or get great pix.

I thought the museum had too many repeats of the same photos. 125 yedars and they repeated the same photos 3 or 4 different ways.

I got there late, but still enjoyed seeing all the photos. Plan on going back to watch the interviews and videos. Thanks.

There was a lot of ppl there. It was hard to really enjoy the displays when having to keep moving out of someone's way. I did enjoy the featurette dispite having to sit on the floor. I will definitely return but on a day when it is less crowded

That happens Dani ,, At least it wasn't a 200 mile drive.. Know what I mean?... When people don't show up the ones they are really cheating are themselves. But I'm betting that a lot of people just showed up late.

I don't know what the food resturant looks like in the neighborhood. I do know it is a higher rent area. Please anticipate pricer places to eat.

Field trip day!!!! To all the first timers welcome! To all the returning members can't wait to meet you! I will be there at 11am when the doors open. It looks like the museum is open until 9pm. There is no structure to this event. Hang out and enjoy. I am bringing a sweater in case it is as cold as I remember it. I will have the parking ticket to get it validated on the way out.

They have a screening room with a film of a documentary. That plays on a loop. There is a small media room that has computers with footage of past exibits. They have hands on computers with additions photos people can thumb through. And of course they have wall photos.

Many powerful surprises on this one inside and outside the targeted space. Look up look down look around. I think many if not all will be impressed :)

LadyD the museum turns over exibits every three to six months. I am sure there will be more opportunity again. If you wanted to catch this one it is going on for a few more weeks.

The top of that list is to use a real computer and not a 3' toy. It made navagating the website much more difficult.

Thanks Chris I wanted to pick a day when nothing else was going on but time is running out on the exibit. I also learned what not to do when posting on the website.

I will be there no later than 11 am. I will wait just outside the front door untill about 11:15 or so. I am 4'10 tall with brunnet hair. I will wear some sort of decorative pin on my shirt. The museum is free. There is no ticket line. If you arrive later, come in and find us. The place is not that big. Please do not forget to bring your parking pass for validation. Again validate it on the way out.

I realized my prior commitment ends at 12. I will still show but it will be around 1ish. I can change my RSVP if you need me to.

Wish I could go to this one. I heard that it is a great exhibit. Have plans this week. Will do on my own next weekend.

The idea is to see it, with the group or without the group. I think you'll get a lot out of it..

Wish i could go Chris but I have another event this weekend. Is there a chance that you have enough people who could go on another day before it closes? I definitely want to go. One of my coworkers went last week and loved it.

Where at the Annenberg is the group meeting up?

    March 19, 2014

Welcome to the first timers. I cannot stress enough to visit the website for specific instructions. Last time I went to the museum it cost me 20$ for what should have cost 4$. My mistake was validating as I went in rather than out. I also found the museum to be cold. I don't know if they did it on purpose because the exibit was an emotionally charged war content. Cooler temps for high emotions. I am bringing a sweater this time.

Its a good chance to sharpen your eyes. If you can't see it , and can't think it , then you cant shoot it.
